Reading Intervention Groups

After assessment, we'll recommend a reading intervention small group for your child. These are groups of two to three children who work on reading challenges together in a supportive atmosphere.

Is a reading intervention group right for your child?

We understand that struggling readers often face challenges beyond academics, including feelings of isolation and diminished self-confidence. That’s why our small groups are designed to meet both the academic and emotional needs of our students.

Our small group model
  • Designed for ages 5+: Tailored for students facing significant reading delays who need intensive remediation

  • Intensive support: Students participate in three focused sessions per week to accelerate progress

  • Group size: Limited to three students to ensure individualized attention

  • Reading assessment included: Each group package includes a reading assessment to identify weak skills and ensure proper placement

  • Intentional grouping: Students are placed in groups based on specific reading skill needs (e.g., decoding, fluency, comprehension) and similar age ranges

  • Targeted instruction: Instruction is customized to address the unique challenges of each student

Benefits of our small groups
  • Improved confidence: Students build self-assurance as they realize they are not alone in their struggles

  • Encouraging environment: A positive, supportive space where students feel safe to ask questions, take risks, and celebrate progress

  • Holistic growth: Strengthens reading skills while nurturing emotional well-being

With small group sizes, intensive sessions, and personalized placement, our intervention groups provide the focused remediation and supportive environment your child needs to thrive.
