Services for families

These services are temporarily paused

Reading isn't just a skill — it's a foundation.

At Reading Services of Arkansas, we provide structured, research-based reading intervention designed to create meaningful, lasting growth. Our approach is built on three core principles: consistency, frequency, and expert instruction — because real change doesn't happen overnight.

Think of it like learning to ride a bike. No one masters it in a single afternoon. It takes steady practice, the right support, and someone who knows exactly when to let go — and when to hold on a little longer. Reading intervention works the same way. It addresses the underlying skills that support reading, typically over two to four years of targeted, consistent instruction.

Our goal isn't dependency — it's independence. We're here to build strong readers who no longer need us.

Literacy Assessments

Every assessment includes a one-on-one, in-person consultation to discuss your family's concerns, goals, and any previous school-based screenings or evaluations (including IEPs, 504 plans, or reading support plans).

Reading Intervention Groups

After assessment, we'll recommend a reading intervention small group for your child. These are groups of two to three children who work on reading challenges together in a supportive atmosphere.
