About us

Meet our founder

Reading Services of Arkansas was founded by Brittney Mills, whose professional experience teaching struggling readers is grounded in her 11 successful years of practical classroom teaching. She has skills and certifications in the latest evidence-based methods of instruction and needs assessment that she uses to chart a custom path for each child’s reading journey based on their personality, needs, support system, and any unique barriers to their learning. No two children are exactly alike, and their literacy plans must accommodate their differences. She is an approved vendor for the Arkansas Literacy Grant which provides $500 for tutoring services for approved families. Fill out this form to apply. Deadline to apply is June 30, 2024.

Brittney’s hands-on, frontline experience in education also gave her understanding about the very real struggles even excellent teachers face and expertise in current school processes, laws and the complexities of navigating these systems while making a difference in individual young lives. She’s a natural collaborator and an advocate for students, teachers, and schools.

We're your literacy ally!

Of top importance to Reading Services of Arkansas is treating each child, parent and teacher with dignity, honesty and respect and giving them our whole-hearted support to excel. Our services reach beyond traditional skills-based tutoring to connect them to other helpful resources and to create moments of genuine connection. We want everyone we work with to feel proud of their progress, whatever pace it takes, and celebrate each win with us.

Once a person learns to read, a whole world of new opportunities opens to them. We love to see that happen, time after time.
