Contractor - Spring Cohort Tutors

Pay Structure:

Pay begins at $40 per hour and increases based on experience, education, additional training, and certifications.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in education, reading specialization, or related field.

Experience working with students with reading difficulties.

Experience with reading intervention programs.

Ability to work independently and flexibly with students, families and community members.

Strong communication skills and an empathetic approach to supporting struggling readers and their families.

Job Overview:
We are seeking passionate and dedicated reading specialists to provide reading intervention services to struggling readers in small cohorts of two or three children, ages 5 to 13 years old, two to three times a week. You will play a vital role in improving students' reading skills and creating broader support networks, with flexible work hours to accommodate both daytime and after-school sessions.
Responsibilities for different cohorts:
Reading Support Cohort - Foundation

Provide reading support in 45 minute sessions, twice a week, to students ages 5 and above, focusing on essential skills such as consonant recognition, short vowel sounds, and CVC word blending and segmenting.

Develop individualized lesson plans and monitor student progress.

Communicate with parents, caregivers, and educators to ensure success.
Reading Support Cohort - Intermediate

Provide reading support in 45 minute sessions, twice a week, to students ages 7 and above, focusing on the essential building blocks of literacy: morphology, including prefixes, suffixes, and Greek and Latin roots..

Develop individualized lesson plans and monitor student progress.

Communicate with parents, caregivers, and educators to ensure success.
Reading Intervention Cohort - Foundation

Provide reading intervention 45 minute sessions, three times a week, to students ages 5 and above facing significant reading delays. This cohort provides intensive remediation. Students will develop foundational skills, including consonant recognition, short vowels, and blending and segmenting CVC words.

Communicate with parents, caregivers, and educators to ensure success.
Reading Intervention Cohort - Intermediate

Provide reading intervention 45 minute sessions, three times a week, to students ages 7 and above facing significant reading challenges. This cohort provides intensive remediation. Students will focus on multi-syllabic reading and spelling, while also developing advanced skills in morphology, including prefixes, suffixes, and Greek and Latin roots.
