Contractor - Kindergarten Reading Intervention Teacher (Small Group)
Reports to: Brittney Mills
Position Type: Part-time, Hourly, (6 hours per week)
Compensation: $40 per hour

Position Summary:
Reading Services of Arkansas is seeking a qualified and dedicated Kindergarten Reading Intervention Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early literacy and will use multi-sensory structured literacy intervention to support kindergarten students who require additional assistance in developing critical foundational reading skills.
This role involves providing small-group reading support to identified students, focusing on letter recognition, sound, and phonemic awareness development. The interventionist will utilize data from previous assessments to tailor interventions and collaborate closely with classroom teachers, parents, and school administrators.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver small-group reading interventions focused on letter recognition, phonemic awareness, and sound development using multi-sensory structured literacy methods.

Conduct bi-monthly progress monitoring to adjust instructional approaches accordingly.

Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and school administrators to monitor student progress and discuss strategies for improvement.

Provide regular updates to parents and school staff regarding student progress, including successes and areas of challenge.

Maintain detailed and accurate records of student progress and intervention outcomes.

Attend meetings and training sessions as required to stay informed about school goals and expectations.

Demonstrate flexibility in adapting instructional techniques to meet the diverse learning needs of students.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Childhood, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Certification in or knowledge of multi-sensory structured literacy interventions

Previous experience working with kindergarten students in a reading intervention or early education setting is strongly preferred.

Familiarity with letter recognition, sound-symbol correspondence, phonemic awareness, and other foundational reading skills.

Ability to assess student needs and modify instruction accordingly.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with educators, parents, and administrators.

Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with young learners.
Hours and Compensation:

6 hours per week (to be scheduled with school)

$40 per hour.

Immediate start available for qualified candidates.

Possible contract extension available for summer and fall based on performance and school needs.
