Administrative Assistant
Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant who values education, loves children, and supports our mission of serving students with dyslexia and other learning differences. This role involves communication with families and professionals, coordination of services, materials management, and continued learning in structured literacy education and related areas.

Hybrid position - Midtown Little Rock (in-person)
Part time - 15 to 25 hours per week, occasional 2 hour weekend work or after 5 work
Pay range: $13 - $16 per hour
1. Family & Partner Communication and Support
​
Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the first point of contact for interested families, therapists, schools, and partner organizations.

Communicate with clarity, empathy, and professionalism.
-
Develop and maintain response templates for frequently asked questions to improve efficiency.
-
Use work management tools (e.g., Monday.com) for task tracking, appointment scheduling, and team coordination.
-
Manage billing and invoicing through QuickBooks, including sending payment links to clients.
Client Coordination:
-
Coordinate testing and intervention schedules with families.
-
Maintain and improve shared systems for tracking student progress and follow-up needs.
-
Ensure materials are prepared in advance of scheduled testing.
-
Establish positive, collaborative relationships with therapists
Support for Families of Struggling Readers:
-
Use strengths-based and growth-oriented language in conversations with families.
-
Provide informed guidance on next steps, such as initial consultations, follow-up conversations, or tutoring.
2. Curriculum & Supplies Management

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain an organized inventory of curriculum materials and educational supplies.
-
Develop and update a checklist of essential classroom items.
-
Ensure timely preparation and restocking of needed instructional resources.
3. Professional Learning & Development
​
We highly value continuous learning and expect the Assistant to grow in the following areas:

Structured Literacy Education (Orton-Gillingham Approach):

Learn multi-sensory strategies (visual, auditory, kinesthetic, tactile) used in structured literacy instruction.
Understanding of Student Needs:

Learn about ADHD, including evidence-based classroom strategies to support attention and impulse control.

Learn about 504 Plans and IEPs to collaborate with families, educators, and specialists.
-
Deepen understanding of the dyslexia spectrum and how it presents across different severity levels.

Gain familiarity with dyslexia screeners and common diagnostic assessments
-
Observe testing sessions and consultations to build confidence and insight
4. Diverse Educational Contexts

Key Responsibilities:

Demonstrate awareness of the unique needs and available resources for dyslexic students in public schools, private schools, and homeschool settings.

Adapt communication and support strategies based on families in different environments.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with administrative support.
-
Strong organizational and communication skills.
-
Familiarity with QuickBooks, work management tools (e.g., Monday.com), and digital scheduling systems.

Passion for helping children with learning differences and a willingness to grow professionally in the field of literacy intervention.

Continuously looks for ways to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and improve systems through research and collaborative feedback.
