Initial dyslexia screening

1.5 hours

$100

Our Initial Dyslexia Screening is a quick, targeted assessment designed to help families explore whether their child may exhibit characteristics of dyslexia. This reliable, research-based process is ideal for parents noticing signs of reading struggles and seeking clarity on how to best support their child’s reading journey.

What does the screening include?
Our screener evaluates key indicators of dyslexia, including:

  • Phonological awareness: Assessing your child’s ability to recognize and manipulate sounds in spoken language

  • Decoding skills: Evaluating how well your child connects letters and sounds to read words

  • Spelling: Measuring your child’s ability to hear, segment, and represent sounds in words

  • Reading fluency: Analyzing the pace and accuracy of reading passages to identify potential difficulties

Personalized consultation and actionable recommendations
After the screening, you will meet with one of our trained dyslexia specialists for a one-on-one consultation. During this session, we will:

  • Review your child’s screening results in detail

  • Address your specific questions and concerns

  • Discuss whether further testing may be beneficial

  • Offer guidance on literacy programs or curriculum, reading interventions, and resources specifically for your child

  • Provide tips for enhancing phonological awareness, decoding skills, and other critical areas at home

Reading diagnostic testing

3-4 hours

$400

Our Reading Diagnostic Test provides an in-depth evaluation of your child’s reading abilities, helping to identify both strengths and areas needing support.

Skills assessed:

  • Word reading: Recognizing words accurately and independently

  • Decoding: Applying letter-sound knowledge to read unfamiliar words

  • Fluency: Measuring reading speed, accuracy, and expression

  • Spelling: Assessing the ability to hear, segment, and write sounds in words

  • Phonological processing: Understanding and manipulating sounds in spoken language

  • Alphabet knowledge: Recognizing letter names and their corresponding sounds

  • Sound-symbol knowledge: Linking letters to their sounds for reading and writing

  • Comprehension: Understanding and engaging with written text

This comprehensive assessment provides:

  • Valuable insights to pinpoint specific reading skills requiring intervention

  • A detailed report with personalized recommendations tailored to your child’s literacy needs

  • A follow-up consultation to discuss results to aid families in making informed decisions regardless of their educational choice

Reading cohorts

After assessment, we'll recommend a reading intervention cohort for your child. These cohorts are groups of two to three children who work on reading challenges together in a supportive atmosphere.

COHORTS NOW FORMING

We understand that struggling readers often face challenges beyond academics, including feelings of isolation and diminished self-confidence. That’s why our cohorts are designed to meet both the academic and emotional needs of our students.

Our cohort model
  • Designed for ages 5+: Tailored for students facing significant reading delays who need intensive remediation

  • Intensive support: Students participate in three focused sessions per week to accelerate progress

  • Small group sze: Cohorts are limited to three students to ensure individualized attention

  • Reading assessment included: Each cohort package includes a reading assessment to identify weak skills and ensure proper placement

  • Intentional grouping: Students are placed in groups based on specific reading skill needs (e.g., decoding, fluency, comprehension) and similar age ranges

  • Targeted instruction: Instruction is customized to address the unique challenges of each student

Benefits of our cohorts
  • Improved confidence: Students build self-assurance as they realize they are not alone in their struggles

  • Encouraging environment: A positive, supportive space where students feel safe to ask questions, take risks, and celebrate progress

  • Holistic growth: Strengthens reading skills while nurturing emotional well-being

With small group sizes, intensive sessions, and personalized placement, our cohorts provide the focused remediation and supportive environment your child needs to thrive.
